Airtel 4G services in Delhi very soon, testing underway: Sources

It has already launched 4G services in Kolkata, Bangaluru, Pune, Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

Bharti Airtel is currently testing its 4G network in Delhi and may soon launch 4G services in Delhi, according to the sources of The Mobile Indian.

Qualcomm had bagged BWA spectrum, or 4G licenses, for Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala. In 2012, Airtel later signed a deal with Qualcomm to roll out 4G services on its behalf. Bharti has otherwise BWA licenses in four circles - Kolkata, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra.
Reliance Industries (RIL), which has pan India license to operate 4G services, is also expected to launch its 4G services in Delhi by this year end. Videocon Telecommunication is also expected to roll out 4G services by December this year. It has got license to provide 4G services in seven circles of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, UP west, UP East, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Many of the 4G operators are also mulling to provide voice services though 4G which anyway will provide high speed data services. Though theoretically, through 4G one can provide data speeds of up to 100 Mbps but in India, operators are likely to provide much lesser data speed. Infact, according to a report, Airtel currently capped its 4G data speed to a mere 10 Mbps after it reduced its data tariffs for the same some days back.
